James M. McClure, Esquire

Mr. McClure has been licensed to practice law since 1997. Mr. McClure’s practice focuses on Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation (including Personal Injury and Worker’s Compensation), Family/Domestic Law, Municipal Law, and Estate Planning and Administration. He was also the Assistant Deputy Public Defender for Huntingdon County and has handled a wide range of criminal cases. In addition, Mr. McClure has experience in appellate practice having litigated cases before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as well as the Pennsylvania Superior and Commonwealth Courts. He has also appeared on multiple occasions before the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons.

Attorney McClure is admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association.

Attorney McClure received a Bachelor of Arts and graduated cum laude from Juniata College, and his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law – cum laude. He also attended the University of Leeds, UK, as part of his undergraduate studies.

Attorney McClure is the Solicitor for several Municipalities and is the Assistant Solicitor for Mifflin County Children and Youth Services. He has served as a Board Member for Junior Achievement and has also been recognized for his extensive Pro Bono efforts.

Nicholas E. Newfield

Nicholas “Nick” Newfield joined BMZ Law, P.C., in 2010 and has successfully represented his clients throughout central Pennsylvania. Nick’s primary focus is in Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Real Estate, and Estate Planning. Additionally, he serves as the solicitor for multiple school boards and municipalities within Huntingdon County.

Nick earned his juris doctorate from St. Thomas School of Law, Miami Gardens, Florida, in 2010. During this time, Nick had the opportunity to clerk in the Florida Circuit Court located in Miami-Dade County. During this time Nick was exposed to a high-profile criminal case which sparked his passion for criminal defense.

Prior to obtaining his J.D., Nick earned both a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Saint Francis University. Nick received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2004, which was only fitting given his upbringing as a Nittany Lion fan.

Nick’s work experience prior to his legal career demonstrates an unrivaled work ethic. His experiences include working in and around coal/salt mines, in the field of industrial engineering, various construction sites, to coaching college softball, which all have taught him what hard work is. Nick has carried this work ethic over into his legal career and it shows in his commitment to you as the client.

Stephen S. Snook

Attorney Snook’s primary focus of practice is Criminal Law and Personal Injury.

Attorney Snook was born in Lewistown and graduated from the Lewistown campus of Penn Highlands High School in 1973. He graduated from IUP with a Degree in Political Science and a Minor in Criminology. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne School of Law in 1982 where he won US Law Week Award in 1982 as the highest grade point average in his senior year. He also won The Book Award, Remedies and Damages.

Attorney Snook was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1982 and had been in Private Practice since 1982 while also the Mifflin County Assistant District Attorney from 1992 to 1993. He was elected to the full time position of Mifflin County District Attorney in 1994 and held the position until 2012. Attorney Snook is a Nationally Certified Child Abuse Prosecutor, a member of Pennsylvania Attorney Medical Legal Advisory Board since 2001, and also a Special Assistant United States Attorney from 1996 to 2012.

Attorney Snook has been the Chairman of the Mifflin County Criminal Justice Advisory Board from 2004 to 2012. He is also a Board Member of the Women’s Abuse Network from 2004 to 2010. He is a member of the Church Council of The Trinity United Church of Christ. Attorney Snook was the Solicitor of the Mifflin County Regional Police from 1999 to 2008.

Thomas K. Hooper

Attorney Hooper is an accomplished trial lawyer who has been practicing throughout Central Pennsylvania since 1994. He has significant experience in handling a wide variety of legal matters within and without the courtroom, including personal injury claims, civil rights claims, wrongful death claims, auto accidents, disability claims, and matters involving medical issues. Attorney Hooper also possesses significant trial experience in all aspects of criminal law. Attorney Hooper is a member, in good standing, with the Million Dollar Advocates Society for having litigated claims on behalf of clients that resulted in verdicts or awards in excess of a million dollars. Attorney Hooper has long been qualified by the courts of Pennsylvania to serve as legal counsel in capital homicide cases.

Attorney Hooper is a member of the Blair and Huntingdon County Bar Associations, as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also licensed to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and before every court in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as the Federal District Court. Attorney Hooper is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Attorney Hooper obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from Juniata College in 1991. Attorney Hooper received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Widener University School of Law in 1994.

Attorney Hooper spent many years serving in the Blair County Bar Association Pro Bono Counsel Program for indigent parents in dependency proceedings. Attorney Hooper has volunteered to serve on various Boards and Non-Profits. Attorney Hooper has a strong history of graciously donating his time, knowledge, and legal experience to a wide variety of community matters and engaging in significant amounts of pro bono work.
